Street To Stable
Equestrian fashion has made its way into mainstream street style lately and we, the multifaceted horse women, are loving it. Gone are the days of the “Day to Night” looks that fashion magazines offer us. Taking the office pencil skirt and pumps and suggesting we toss on some strappy heels, sparkly baubles and a new lip color for a night at the club. Though they may be fun to thumb through in line at the grocery store, this is just not us.
What we need is a no-nonsense application for our daily lives of either school or work and then right to the barn. The key is finding practical multi-purpose pieces without sacrificing style and comfort. Below is a look made of some of my favorite items this season that will seamlessly take you from a day out right to the barn with only a few modifications for either occasion.
Obsessed with Horses Ladies Tee by One Horse Threads
Be bold about your love for horses in this tee that is the perfect cool weight for summer with an easy worn in feel. Graphic tees are everywhere right now and might be the easiest thing to dress up or down. Buy yours today!
Denim Knee Patch Ladies Breech by Ariat
Knee patch detailed denim and leggings are becoming increasingly popular in high fashion. Get ahead of the trend wearing these breeches out and about. Ideal for daily wear and don’t scream “I’m going riding” until you pair them with your tall boots.
Train On Ladies Jacket by Goode Rider
This jacket, though made by an equestrian company, is so fashionable I can hardly stand it. This lightweight summer jacket has amazing feel and stretch. It provides an unbelievably flattering silhouette tapered at the waist and falling away from the hips. I adore its dropped back hem for a little extra coverage, especially when wearing breeches. This is the ultimate crossover street to stable jacket.
Tribal Flair Three Arrow Bangle Bracelet by Rock 47
It’s all in the details, you guys! The addition of this silver accent bracelet will give your outfit just the right amount of bohemian flair without letting go of the classic equestrian feel this look offers.
The Cruiser is ideal for running around town or perfect to slip into after you take your riding boots off. The attractive navy blue suede with silver bit detail is brand new this season. These will be, without a doubt, your favorite slip-on this summer when both style and comfort are paramount.
Firenze Backpack by Noel Asmar
You will see backpacks everywhere this summer! The Firenze is made in Italy with high quality luxurious leather so supple you won’t believe it. This stunning grey color will allow you pair it with just about anything in your wardrobe. Add a totally chic vibe to your equestrian street style that you can take anywhere with hands-free convenience.
Dogma Helmet by KASK
If you haven’t heard of KASK helmets yet, you need to! These guys have been in the helmet business since 2004 and create helmets for all sorts of sports from cycling and snow sports to mountaineering and equestrian events. Their helmets are made in Italy with the highest standards. The Dogma is not only incredibly lightweight and breathable but it is a truly stunning helmet. My favorite feature, aside from the self-adapting adjusting system, is the special textile material covering the helmet that is waterproof, scratch resistant and washable! This helmet is worth every penny.
Donatello II Field Boot by Tredstep
New from Tredstep’s Renaissance Collection! This boot features a slim profile with a Pro-Flex design at the laces which provides a shorter break-in period. Rear zipper for easy on-and-off intended for those quick changes at the barn or horse show. I love that this boot is beautiful enough for the show ring and comfortable enough for daily riding. You cannot go wrong with these field boots.
These belts are stylish and wildly practical offering sizing where one size fits most. You just cut off excess material from the end with no holes and easily reattach the buckle. These belts are waterproof and easy to clean. You can wash them in the dishwasher! Also made with earth friendly TPE plastic that’s low melting temperature means minimal energy use to create. How awesome is that? They come in many solid colors and patterns options, but I love the navy blue solid with the classic equestrian outfit I’ve laid out.
